Malaga - Caminito del Rey

El Caminito del Rey is one of the main tourist attractions in the province of Malaga, it is located between the municipalities of Álora, Antequera and Ardales. Just 50 minutes by car from the capital, this network of footbridges hanging on the rock receives 300,000 visitors of all nationalities every year.
At the beginning of the 20th century it was built as a small service trail that crossed the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes. Its footbridges rise almost 100 meters above the bottom of the gorge through which the Guadalhorce River runs.
The total route of Caminito del Rey is 7.7 km, divided between the 4.8 km of accesses and the 2.9 km of wooden footbridges nailed in the rock and forest paths. The path is suitable for almost everyone and it takes between three and four hours of leisurely walk to complete the entire route and fill our camera with fantastic images. We must bear in mind that the route is not circular and can only be done south, so the entrance is a little distant from the exit.
The road was inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII, and from that moment the locals adopted the name of Caminito del Rey.
